Research Highlights:
The Raphael Lab investigates why the immune system often fails to fight aggressive brain tumors, such as adult glioblastoma and pediatric diffuse midline gliomas. Our research bridges the gap between basic discovery and clinical therapy by combining experimental immunology with advanced computational tools, specifically single-cell sequencing. Our research focuses on decoding the cellular and molecular mechanisms guiding T cell decisions within the complex brain tumor microenvironment in order to understand how to reignite an effective immune response. By integrating high-resolution data with translational models, we aim to design effective immunotherapies that overcome the unique barriers of the nervous system. Ultimately, our work seeks to translate immunological insights into more effective treatments for patients with brain tumors.
