A study led by Prof. Francesca Levi-Schaffer of the School of Pharmacy, in collaboration with doctoral students Ilan Zaffran and Prince Ofori and postdoctoral student Pratibha Gaur, has found that eosinophil cells, which are known to be the main cause of allergies and asthma, also play a protective role against the dangerous fungus Candida albicans.
